‘Fine Thames Water until they sort out the many leaks’

• I AGREE that Thames Water should pour money into tackling the floods.

At the moment there must be hundreds of gallons of water per hour going into the gutter near my home.

It appears Thames Water is quite happy to let this continue but also to threaten people with a £1,000 fine for daring to use a hosepipe to water a garden or wash a car.

But then what else do we expect from a water utility which has one of the worst water leakage rates, but would rather pay out huge dividends than repair leaking pipes?

It’s a pity that Ofwat, the so-called water regulatory body, doesn’t pull Thames Water up about this and fine them until they sort out the many leaks.
