Not all strangers are so kind

• REGARDING your letter How to tackle a fare-dodger, (August 22), I think you were lucky.
The following happened when I was on a 268 bus in Haverstock Hill. In the priority seats was a man collapsed, ashen in colour and breathing with difficulty.
We turned into Belsize Avenue and at the stop I told the driver. He looked at the passenger and said “I am calling an ambulance”.
I spoke to the man, found out his name and how he had a breathing problem. The ambulance arrived. I told the crew what I had found out.
The driver beckoned to me, saying the next bus had arrived. I got on the second bus. One man on that was complaining loudly about all the unnecessary delay.
