• I WOULD like to respond to your correspondent, (The ‘care’ I receive can be humiliating, January 10).

I will be 89 in March, live alone, and manage with some help with shopping and cleaning, but without a carer, although one was offered recently when I had a fall.

Surely we all have a choice. No one can inflict a carer on you. Who has made your correspondent have help they obviously do not want?
