Sumatran tigers are the rarest tigers in the world [Video still ZSL London Zoo]

• I WAS very lucky at the weekend to see the new tiger cub at London Zoo. He or she was so beautiful I wanted to cry.

Even though the cub was born here in London, being a Sumatran tiger, this cub would suit an Asian name. My suggestions are Raya, meaning celebration, Bintang, for star, or Belang, which means stripes.

I was sad to learn that Sumatran tigers are the rarest tigers in the world with only 300 left in the wild. I can’t wait to go back to the zoo next Sunday!
