GPs cash access?

• I AM absolutely opposed to any privatisation of our marvellous NHS, so what I’m about to write feels like heresy.

I can’t help feeling that if GPs relied for survival on cash being paid over the counter, we would find them more accessible in these difficult times.

I was welcomed into my pharmacist for my (free) flu jab on Monday. But I had to jump through all kinds of hoops just to get a phone link to my GP whose surgery resembles a fortress under fire.
