THE weekend was full of reminders about just how much a big cup win means to footballers and all of their supporters.
There were wild scenes at Wembley on Sunday where Newcastle United won their first domestic trophy for 70 years when they beat Liverpool 2-1 to capture the Carabao Cup.

But even the Magpies’ festivities couldn’t hold a candle to the jubilant, cork-popping celebrations witnessed on Saturday when scores of young players from across the capital got their hands on silverware in the Regent’s Park Youth League.
Among the biggest winners were Kentish Town Football Club who landed a terrific treble.
