TOMORROW May Be My Last is the story of a small-town girl’s remarkable journey from adolescent outcast to musical icon. Set during a music festival, the show marks a key moment in Janis Joplin’s brief existence and includes a live band. Joplin is played by singer-songwriter Collette Cooper. • Chekhov’s Dildo is a break-up-sex comedy. Ex-lovers Annabel and Rufus show us what it means to fall back between the sheets of a past romance. Annabel is Rufus’s former student. • Jo Harper’s The Beach House explores the fragility of female relationships, motherhood, sisterhood and other distractions. Moving out of the city to raise their baby, the old house by the sea is supposed to be a peaceful new start for Liv and Kate. • Henry Naylor’s docu-play Afghanistan is Not Funny is the true story of a British comedian’s experiences in war-torn Afghanistan. • After the Act: A Section 28 Musical, by Ellice Stevens and Billy Barrett, examines the dark period of UK history when Section 28 prohibited the “promotion” of homosexuality in schools. It is 35 years since Section 28 was voted into law by Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government, and 20 years since its repeal.
