MIRANDA Pitcher’s Miniature Travelling Circus is at Little Angel studios from Sept 16-Nov 13 and features beautiful puppets and nostalgic magic tricks. Ages 3-6 years. The King of Nothing, Ben Glasstone’s re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes is at Little Angel Theatre from Sept 24-Nov 20. King Reginald is a ruler who likes to keep in style. But fashions change so fast, he can’t keep up. Hearing of the king’s predicament, two fast-talking “weavers” head to the palace with their “smart” fabric that will never go of fashion. Reginald can’t wait to wear his new suit to the Big Parade. • Set on the eve of Thatcher’s landslide victory in 1979, Barrie Keeffe’s play, SUS, is a shocking depiction of institutional racism through the eyes of a young black man brutalised by the police for a crime he did not commit. • Michael Longhurst directs the European premiere of The Band’s Visit, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and Book by Itamar Moses at the Donmar Warehouse from Sept 24-Dec 3. A band of musicians are lost in a quiet desert town off the beaten path.
