‘Together we can make a big difference and save London Zoo’

• HAVING grown up in flats with no outdoor space London Zoo became my back garden and I spent many happy hours wandering around the zoo.

I loved that the animals were not in cages but the zoo had made every effort to create a natural habitat for every animal, big or small.

When my own child was born, London zoo became his back garden too. A safe place for him to explore and an educational space.

I remember once winning one of your competitions. The prize was one year’s sponsorship of a bat, in London zoo. I called the bat “Barry” and we spent the entire year trying to identify which bat was “my Barry”.

If everyone who wants to can contribute a little, then together we can make a big difference and save the zoo!
