• THOSE who have long been overlooked as low-status workers are suddenly and rightly being hailed as unsung heroes.

I’d like to add to that list childminders, who year in year out do a marvellous job looking after the country’s future.

Many have kept going in the lockdown to look after the children of key workers. They do this despite the added risk to their own families. But they don’t get the credit they deserve.
