Leno may lead Arsenal exodus
Goalkeeper on the brink of finalising move to Fulham

THE exodus at Arsenal is finally about to get underway – but only after the club reportedly cut their asking prices.
Bernd Leno is on the brink of finalising his protracted move to Fulham for £8million. The Gunners are said to have originally wanted nearer £12m for the goalkeeper, but will now settle for less just to get the deal done.
That’s because they currently have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League – and are trying to offload as many as 10 players before the summer transfer window closes.
Leno is one of five first-team goalkeepers on the books, and having entered the final 12 months of his current contract, the Arsenal hierarchy will be more than happy to start reducing the wage bill.
Others said to be heading for the exit door at the Emirates are Runar Alex Runarsson, Pablo Mari, Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira, Nicolas Pepe and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Admitting it is far from an easy challenge, Arsenal’s technical director Edu said: “I think the most important thing is to make the player understand why he is here or why he needs to go, and then we have to create some possibilities with the player’s agents and try to find the best solution possible for the player.
“As soon as you give to them a clear idea of what you want to do, it helps the situation. It’s a challenge because you have to find clubs, situations and loans. But again, if you can be direct to the player in a very respectful way, that helps a little bit to make the best decision.”
