‘Kiln’ management are squandering the Tricycle’s hard-earned reputation
Thursday, 14th June 2018
• THE theatre bosses said: “We’ve had an over-whelmingly warm response from our donors and supporters…”, (MP Tulip Siddiq raises concerns over change of name at Tricycle theatre, June 7).
As a donor and a supporter I would rather not have them speak on my behalf. I am not at all happy with the name change.
I think it’s an attempt by new management to sweep out the old regime, but in doing so they squander the Tricycle’s hard-earned reputation.
The new name is just plain bad, and they’re constantly suggesting there’s something revolutionary about being “diverse” and representing the community.
It already was “diverse”. Local kids used to work in the Trike, it did outreach, it served the community, and it didn’t have to crow about it.
