• WHILE it was good to see that Camden planners are drawing the line at developers welching on pledges to provide affordable housing (Please sir, we want some more homes, December 23) it is heartbreaking to see that in the case reported the developer in question was University College London Hospital’s Charity hoping to raise money for the NHS by developing and flogging off an old Victorian workhouse.

In a nutshell we have the age-old tragedy of two grotesquely under-resourced public sector institutions fighting over crumbs from our rich economy’s table.

And Camden looking like the bad guy for wanting more affordable (?) homes. What a broken system we live under!
