The Kiln Theatre

• I SAW, with regret, the rather negative comments about the Kiln Theatre from David Williams, (The Tricycle struggle continues… November 1).

As it happens I went to the new production of White Teeth there the night before, and I enjoyed it tremendously – as I think did most of the rest of the audience on the night.

After a substantial investment, the new theatre is much improved, certainly in terms of seating and sightlines. I suspect that it also has greater flexibility in terms of the possibilities of staging as well.

For me those are really the key things about a theatre. Can those who do not like the new name just accept that things do change over time?
