Investment for parks should be increased
Friday, 17th April 2020
• NOW, more than ever, the minister for parks and green spaces for communities should recognise the unique value of our green spaces and increase investment in all parks – they are now, in these unprecedented times, a haven for those in cramped living spaces without access to a garden or a balcony.
For too long have parks been ignored with some having to be taken over by volunteer groups and others forced to seek income by renting green space for various festivals and events.
For too long have our parks been left off of the vigorous “green agenda” of environmental campaigners and government. It’s time to invest in the country’s health and wellbeing.
