• AS an old Benny Hill fan, who still watches repeats on satellite, I urge Harrington (Come on, Benny Hill was awful, October 7) to acquire a sense of proportion a sense of humour and a life.

Acceptable then is acceptable now and vice versa. Benny was far above the alternatives to comedy of today.
