If you study within the state system the nasty, class-based, society hurts you

Gavin Williamson

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson

• THAT A-level “fix” was as obnoxious as education secretary Gavin Williamson. The government seemed to be supporting private schools and downgrading state schools.

All countries need good and fair educational opportunity to succeed and the United Kingdom will now be losing out.

I note that Labour, which heavily lost the general election, was also fine-tuned with privately-educated schoolboys like Seamus Milne and Jeremy Corbyn – both in the tradition of Iraq War PM Tony Blair.

If you study within the state system you get abused by fancy statistical games to keep you just where you belong in a nasty, class-based, society with more peers created each year – and with lords outnumbering the elected MPs.

What a future for our hard-working kids?
