• SHUFFLING my postal voting papers for the London mayoral election, I came across the name of Mr RJH (Richard) Hewison, a candidate for the position of mayor.

His policy is “Rejoin EU: Brexit is broken”, hardly practical politics at the present moment, though it is important to keep alive the prospect of a long-time aspiration to which many adhere.

Though I will certainly give my vote to Sadiq Khan, I shall also be giving my second preference to Richard Hewison, and I would urge many other voters to do the same.
