How can we afford ULEZ-compliant vehicles?

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan [@SadiqKhan-twitter]
• CAN the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan tell people who are on £15,000 to £25,000 a year how to buy a ULEZ-compliant car? I am worried about the August 29 this year deadline for expansion of the ultra low emission zone.
I am a special educational needs teaching assistant and I am on a low salary point. I currently have a car which is not ULEZ-compliant and I am not on benefits; so I am not entitled to any support.
Sadiq Khan, when I have emailed this question on numerous occasions, “how do you expect someone in my position to buy a ULEZ-compliant car with my salary in the midst of a living crises?” has not answered. It is infuriating. He simply ignores the question.
The cost of ULEZ-compliant cars have risen and there are not many options unless you have a budget of £15k to £20k to buy anything decent.
Should people in my position buy a ULEZ-compliant car then send Sadiq Khan and the Labour Party the bill since they were the ones who said diesel pollutes less?
Sadiq Khan has lost touch with reality since he is on a salary of more than £150,000 and completely ignores a huge group of people on lower incomes and not on benefits. The mayor should not be allowed to do what he is doing. It is undemocratic.
The majority of people whom this will affect have voiced their concerns and said no to the expansion. Yet Sadiq Khan is still doing what he wants to do. I hope he is stopped.
