How can the public afford HS2?

‘We must insist that the government rethinks HS2’
• WHILE poverty in the country is rife, and set to get worse, the cost of living is soaring with people having to choose between heating and eating.
How on Earth, then, can the public afford to be forced to pay £116billion-plus, for the scandalous, obscene, and unnecessary white elephant HS2?
It has caused widespread human misery since its inception (and it was obtained by corruption and dishonesty).
But in addition its savage and irreversible mass deforestation is likely to cause more future pandemics with the loss of wildlife habitats.
Furthermore mature trees cannot be replaced by new trees, as this will cause even more damage, especially foreign replacements.
And if they stopped destroying the indigenous and mature trees we already have, they wouldn’t need to plant new ones!
Its a no-brainer that HS2 is unaffordable, and a dangerous climate and ecological threat to us all, as well as causing untold insecurity, misery, fear, and unhappiness!
We must therefore insist that the government rethinks HS2 (honestly) and stops it right now. That money could then be used to help the Covid 19-weary electorate recover!
