• I CAN’T wait to see Jane Giles’s film on the Scala Cinema in the eighties and nineties next year, (Who remembers film all-nighters? November 11).

I hope Huston the cat will make an appearance. he was a cheeky dark tabby that always seemed to jump – terrifyingly – from out of the darkness into your lap just as the film reached its scariest part.
