James Small-Edwards

AS you will have read, it was James Small-Edwards who unseated Tony Devenish at the London Assembly – and the Labour winner certainly had done something today to make himself feel proud. Ugh! Harrington apologises to all readers that the last line made it to print, but maybe we can just mention it one more time and then never again: his mum is Heather Small from M People! You may remember his annoyance when Liz Truss used her group’s song Moving On Up as walk-on music for a speech at the Tory conference.

Tony Devenish

There was a funny side as that song contains the lines: “Move on out of here, go on pack your bags.” And it wasn’t long before Britain’s cringiest prime minister was just doing that, and moving out of Downing Street as that the shortest-ever tenant of that famous address. OK from now on, we’ll only mention James SE for what he does at City Hall as a new Assembly member and not who his famous parents are; his father is rugby legend Shaun Edwards btw.

• LAURENCE Fox burned cash on booking a picture of his face for an election ad to be wrapped around nearly every local paper in London – not us thankfully! It was all wasted cash as hardly anybody voted for him last week and he lost his deposit. That’s another £5k deficit in itself.
