ARSENAL have reportedly tabled a bid of more than £40million in the hope of finally capturing their long-term target Thomas Partey.

Despite the financial uncertainty over how the coronavirus pandemic will affect football, the Gunners are ready to trigger the defensive midfielder’s release clause.

They have offered Atletico Madrid £43.5million for the 26-year-old Ghana international, who has already expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba might have upset a few Manchester United supporters after revealing that he was a Gooner as a youngster.

“I will be honest. So, at the start, I was an Arsenal fan – obviously because of all the French players, you know,” the midfielder told United’s official podcast. “I used to love Thierry Henry.”
