The Mysterines play Rough Trade East [Sylas Agtarap (@shotbySig)]
BRING your music history up to date as Jazz Café continues its A History of UK Pirate Radio series. First, a truly special show from Bristol drum ’n’ bass hero Roni Size and Metalheadz DJ Storm, who take over the intimate venue for an unforgettable Jungle and D’n’B match-up on June 7. Then, on June 14, DJ Spoony, Wookie and Lady Passion take us through the golden era of UK garage.
• Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello returns to play the UK for the first time since 2019, playing the Electric Ballroom on June 13.
• Award-winning UK country music duo The Shires aka Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes are bringing their intimate acoustic The Two of Us tour to the Union Chapel on May 31 and June 1. Since their breakthrough in 2014, the band has had a succession of hit albums, been embraced by the Nashville scene, won two Country Music Awards and amassed over 100 million streams.
• And if you feel like taking that love for country music to the dance floor, head to Camden Assembly on June 1 for Cowboy Camden, promising to bring Nashville to London with DJs spinning country hits and more plus confetti canons, giveaways, and an appearance from country music DJ, Rattlesnake Johnny.
• If you’re not familiar with The Zombies, you might still know their hit She’s Not There from that Chanel advert with Kiera Knightly. The band celebrate 60 years on tape at Barbican on June 7 where they will be joined by Paul Weller, Irwin Sparkes, Sarah Brown and more.
• Paloma Faith heads to Union Chapel on June 12 for an evening of conversation and questions where she will be talk about Motherhood, Identity, Love & F*ckery as described in her book of the same name.
