WHY not mark – or ignore – Valentine’s night with a gig? How about Cardiff’s Panic Shack and Brighton punks Lambrini Girls at The Lexington; or support Refugee charity Choose Love with Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall’s The Waeve + Nadine Shah + The Big Pink + Gia Ford + Nuha Ruby Ra + Ciara Haidar + Nabihah Iqbal + Swim Deep + Lou Hayter. Over at Green Note, The Deborah Carew Swing Trio play the music of love, original arrangements from the early jazz era, while in the basement the jazz-classical outfit Gypsy Dreamers Trio promise some Valentine’s fun with originals, jazz, chansons and some cheeky pop covers.

Experience the songs of one of the great poets and songwriters as Ballets Jazz Montréal & Robomagic live bring its exclusive UK premiere of Dance Me – choreographed to the music of Leonard Cohen at Sadler’s Wells until tomorrow (Feb 11).

• Take stock of the apocalyptic state of things at Barbican’s The End of The World performance on Feb 11. Ukranian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk, Canadian cellist Julia Kent, vocal group Shards and Turin-based collective SPIME.IM join to create an immersive musical and visual collaboration celebrating nature’s beauty and a dramatic representation of “the ecological disaster that our planet is facing and the self-destructive conduct of mankind”. Before that, on Feb 10, Egyptian Australian virtuoso oud player Joseph Tawadros introduces the world premiere of his new concerto Three Stages of Hindsight, commissioned by Britten Sinfonia. He will be followed by an orchestral adaptation of Delius’ Hassan.

If you’ve managed to snap up a ticket to Reverend and the Makers’ sold out Islington Assembly Hall gig on Feb 11, you might find they are joined by a special guest on the night in the form of Jeremy Corbyn – it seems there’s a mutual admiration between the politician and the band. Support comes from Supergrass’ Danny Goffey and Bristol’s The Ramona Flowers. Then, on Feb 14-15, Denver husband and wife indie-pop band Tennis play two nights at the Assembly Hall.

• The Garage continues its 30th birthday celebrations with a special appearance from The Futureheads on Feb 11.

Rina Sawayama performs an exclusive acoustic set at Lafayette on Feb 10 as part of BRITs Week 2023. Then, on Feb 11-12 Canada represents with Reunion: A Weekend with Stars & Friends featuring Canadian band Stars plus support from Murray A Lightburn (frontman of Montreal’s acclaimed The Dears) and special appearances from Russell Lissack (Block Party) and Louis Philippe.

• Aussie rock outfit Spacey Jane headline the Roundhouse on Feb 10 with support from Dolores Forever.

Be spoiled with an evening of folk delights from Christina Alden & Alex Patterson and The Shackleton Trio, who play The Harrison on Feb 10.

• SoCal roots rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck play Powerhaus on Feb 11 ahead of the release of new EP One Of A Kind.

See Wigan four-piece The Lathums close-up at The Lexington on Feb 11 or in the larger surrounds of the Roundhouse on March 18.
