GREGGS struck a deal this week with city council licensing chiefs following a dispute over through-the-night sausage roll sales.
The company had appealed against a decision to block sales of hot food 24 hours a day from a new flagship store in Leicester Square.
But with days to go to the hearing Greggs dropped its appeal after reaching an agreement with Westminster City Council.
The agreement means it can sell pasties and sausage rolls until 2am, but items from its hot food menu – including pizzas, chicken goujons and hot baguettes – cannot be sold past 11pm.
The shop must also have bouncers on the door, install CCTV and make sure rubbish is cleared from outside the shop.
Cllr Aicha Less deputy council leader and cabinet member for communities and public protection, said: “Based on the merits of this case, Westminster has come to an agreement with Greggs that works for everyone.

“The licence is also subject to significant conditions which include the installation of CCTV at the premises, the use of door supervisors and the clearing of litter outside the premises.
“We are pleased to continue to support local businesses and look forward to working with the company going forward.”
The original licence application was blocked by the city council over concerns the store would cause “late-night disturbances and anti-social behaviour”.
Objections had been raised from residents about whether a 24-hour Greggs conflicted with the council’s healthy eating agenda.
The police had objected to the original application last summer.
That had included a statement from the company.
It said: “Greggs already has two late-night shops open in Newcastle city centre; both close to clubs and bars. People come out of pubs and clubs at various times in the night and drop in for a pastry or sausage roll.
“The products that typically sell after 11pm are sausage rolls and pizza that are not held hot. Breakfast sandwiches are popular between 3.30am and 4am.
“Greggs caters to a wider range of customer types and there is no particular demographic that is disproportionately represented, and certainly none that would be associated with anti-social behaviour.”
