Government needs to invest in the health service

‘The NHS has deliberately been starved of funding’
• NOT surprisingly the National Health Service is overwhelmed with the rise of Covid-19 cases, as it has deliberately been starved of the funding it needs.
While accident and emergency departments have closed cases have to go to other hospitals outside London. When I had Covid-19, a very bad case with pneumonia as well, I was taken to the Whittington Hospital as the North Middlesex was on divert. I was allowed home the next day but had to go back as I was very ill.
Recently I had a case of suspected Covid-19, dialled 111, and was taken to North Middlesex Hospital. There were many seriously ill patients, requiring oxygen, taken back to ambulances; and paramedics waiting to book in the patients.
This is simply unacceptable for a world-class health service. So instead of closing accident and emergencies and hospitals, they should be investing in them.
For years the Tories have backed the selling of hospital land for overpriced housing that people on modest wages cannot afford to buy.
And behind our back they simply want an American-style insurance system where health care is a privilege not a right. While they have not got the guts to say it, their actions speak louder than words.
Why don’t they come clean and say yes, we made mistakes by closing these hospitals, instead of blaming people who are seriously ill.
