• HOW often must we be led to believe there is such a thing (or ever can be) as “equality”? Whether it be birth, health, wealth, status or talent, such a premise is pie-in-the-sky.

It is spurious and mischievous to suggest it is somehow a “right”, and its constant mention is little more than an encouragement towards envy and spite, rather than aspiration, advancement and achievement.

Instead, let us demand what is desirable: equality of opportunity.
