THERE’S a chance to get active this Sunday when Hampstead Heath hosts a wide range of free sports and wellbeing events.
Organised by the City of London Corporation, the annual “Give it a Go” day returns to Parliament Hill between 1pm and 5pm. There will be plenty of sports available to try, including croquet, fencing, fishing, fitness classes, football, rugby and tennis.
Visitors can also have a free health check, while there will also be food stalls and music on the bandstand courtesy of The 286 and Les Domingos.
The event is aimed at all age groups, and young people will be encouraged to try as many sports as possible by collecting a stamp for each activity they take part in to fill in their “Passport for Success”.
Chair of the Hampstead Heath management committee, William Upton, said: “The Heath is such an important place for physical and mental wellbeing, and Give it a Go will showcase some of the many activities on offer here and in the local community.
“It’s a great opportunity to try out a new sport and perhaps find a new hobby.”
