Getting away on wedding day… why not cough up for charity instead?

• SO Carole Taylor is appalled at the cost of the royal wedding dress and that there are thousands of homeless people, (It’s just too much, May 10).

The poor are always with us and always will be, wedding or no wedding. She is going away for the day on May 19; may I suggest she stays at home and donates the money she will spend to charity.
