The St Pancras Boxing Club fighters who are set to step between the ropes in Aix-en-Provence
A SQUAD of promising young boxers are hitting the road again after being invited to showcase their skills in the south of France.
In September a team from St Pancras Boxing Club, in Kentish Town, enjoyed a trip to Denmark that brought with it “great camaraderie”. So much so that head coach CJ Hussein is now busy preparing the boys for another weekend-long tournament, this time to the scenic city of Aix-en-Provence.
“The boys absolutely loved their time in Denmark”, said CJ. “They really bonded as a group, and we got to see the real characters and personalities we have in the squad.
“A few of the boys hadn’t even been on an aeroplane before, now they’ve boxed abroad.
“Most of them got two fights under their belts, and made it to their respective finals.
“In regards to bringing everyone together as a group, it worked so well that when we were invited to France by Boxing Club Larbi Mohammedi, we jumped at the chance.
“Trips like these are not just about the boxing, they’re about giving the boys the chance to experience different cultures and interact with kids their age who have grown up in a completely different environment.”
