A FORMER headteacher of a Westminster primary school is standing in the key Lancaster Gate ward at this year’s council elections.

Angela Piddock, head at Wilberforce school before it was turned into an Academy, is fighting to unseat former deputy leader Robert Davis.

Ms Piddock, 68, said: “There is a massive issue around CityWest Homes here. I was talking to residents last night, in the Hallfield estate. One has had no gas or heating for a very long time.”

“There are concerns about CityWest Homes not being forced to do their job properly.”

She said there are also concerns about Whiteley’s, affordable homes, concern about loss of independent shops at the bottom of Queensway, “general unease” about fly-tipping and affordable housing.

Ms Piddock said Westminster’s Labour group had come up with a “very good” manifesto that was more radical than the national party’s in last year general election.
