‘Masks do not provide a proper level of spread protection particularly indoors’

• I WOULD like to ask Justin Frith (Sinking feeling, May 27), how he knows the girlfriend of a visitor to the British Museum “decided” not to wear a mask?

This attitude is so prevalent at the moment, whereby people seem to think that they can decipher the medical conditions of other people simply by looking at them.

One of my friends suffers from severe chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD) as did my late partner and would be choking if they wore a mask.

It has also been reported widely by medical experts that masks do not provide a proper level of spread protection particularly indoors.

A bit more consideration would not go amiss.
