THERE were eye-catching saves, stepovers, heroic defending, unstoppable goals and plenty of celebrations on Saturday when scores of talented young footballers flocked to the Somers Town Community Sports Centre for their final friendly fixtures before the half-term break.

Players representing Bloomsbury Football, London Thames FC, London Futsal Stars and Sports Empowered Soccer School were among those who showcased their skills as the action continued in the Camden Youth Football League at the 4G pitches in Chalton Street.

And while there are no league tables or results recorded for the Under-7s and Under-8s competition, that didn’t dampen down any of the energy or excitement as parents and coaches cheered their teams on from the sidelines.
