THERE’S simply no stopping the boys’ free-scoring football squad from Fleet Primary School in Hampstead.

The Year 5 & 6 side showed tremendous team fortitude when they won the Camden Schools Sports Association’s (CSSA) one-day tournament, which was held at Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury recently.

It completes a terrific CSSA treble for Fleet, who are managed by volunteer parent Thomas Looney, who also runs Kentish Town FC.

Fleet can now add their latest trophy to the North League title and overall CSSA championship shield that they have already captured this season.

Praising the boys for being able to more than hold their own against bigger schools, Fleet headteacher Don McGibbon said: “It’s amazing. Hopefully the players recognise the possibility of a dynasty, with almost half the team being Year 5 children, and the challenge of being a one-form entry in terms of talent pool. The top-quality coaching helps, too!”
