• I WAS appalled to read the front-page story about the US company taking over GP surgeries, (The great GP surgery takeover, February 18).

Why does the United Kingdom act as America’s lapdog?

Can’t they understand that by allowing the US to take over any aspect of our NHS will result in us becoming more like the America, with people too poor to access medical help.

The US government want to get their greedy mitts on our NHS, because they are blatantly only interested in profits before people.

What has happened to the British warrior spirit? Are we so downtrodden that we will just put up with more and more privatisation of public sector companies?

Stand up Britain, be strong and stop kowtowing to the USA and its amoral, grasping and selfish corporations.

So come on everyone, protest against this dreadful takeover, otherwise this will be a total disaster for all decent normal people.
