Nigel Farage

• DESCRIBING Nigel Farage, Emma Goldman sinks to tabloid rhetoric, “enemy of the people”, and social media abuse, “too-tight brown coat… shoulder fat bulges… Flushed and puffy… the face of a boozer”, (Silent Witness, Review, August 17).

She could, I suppose, have described Nigel Farage as an enemy of a third of the people, given that a third of them voted for his proposition, a third against it and a third were indifferent and abstained.

But, bursting with superior wisdom, it is hard-core members of the middle group who are obviously the most important. Which is why they are still in such a filthy temper.
