Camden Elite’s Under-11s girls’ team won silverware at the Ruislip Rangers Six-A-Side Football Festival in Harrow

THE celebrations surrounding winning their first-ever trophy had barely settled down when Camden Elite’s new Under-11s girls’ team struck yet more silverware.

The all-conquering squad were in sensational form once again on Monday when they took part in the Ruislip Rangers Six-A-Side Football Festival in Harrow.

Having won five games out of five in the group stages, Elite then beat a side representing host club Ruislip in the semi-finals 3-0, thanks to Poppy Lea’s deadly double and a strike from Alva Tucker.

They then toppled another of Ruislip’s youth sides in the final. Winger Sanya Shah helped open the scoring when her deflected cross found its way into the back of the net, before substitute Rio Kadrok scored to wrap up a 2-0 victory. Elite added the Ruislip Rangers Trophy to the Camden & Islington Youth League Cup that they won just nine days earlier – not bad for a squad that was only put together in September.

“The girls are showing a real togetherness,” said head coach Sebastian Eurico. “All the players are friends and they have a fantastic bond. They are always there for each other, and are always pushing each other to become better players.”

Assessing the pitch-perfect performances, Sebastian added: “They conceded just one goal on their way to winning the tournament on Monday. That’s one more than they conceded when they won the Camden & Islington Youth League competition at Market Road last weekend, which shows you just how well they defend as a team. And at the other end of the pitch they’re just as hungry, creating lots of chances and scoring lots of goals.

“All the players are very keen to learn, and they are only going to keep getting better and better.”
