Father and son team Lewis and Alex Thorne

• ON Monday father and son team Lewis and Alex Thorne set out to cycle from home in Camden to Edinburgh.

What started off as a journey to university for Alex, who has just finished his A-levels at LaSwap, has turned into a fundraiser for the National Brain Appeal, (www.nationalbrainappeal.org/), the charity linked to UCH Queen Square, where Lewis works as a surgeon.

This is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. These include stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia.
