Sir Tony Robinson ‘bumps into’ Georgia Gould… ‘who would believe that?’

SIR Tony Robinson “bumped into” the Queen’s Park and Maida Vale Labour candidate this week.

The former star of the Blackadder sitcom held up his postal vote by a letterbox in which he said he would be voting Labour.

In a film on X, formerly Twitter, Robinson said: “This is my postal vote which I am actually about to put in that letterbox with an X by the name of Georgia Gould, our Labour candidate in Queen’s Park and Maida Vale. Don’t forget to fill in yours.” He was then seen posting his vote.

Showing his acting talents have not wilted, in an obviously staged film, Robinson spots Gould standing next to him, before asking: “Do I recognise you?”

She says: “Yes I’m Georgia Gould I’m the Labour candidate for this area,” to which he replies “What a coincidence, who would believe that?”

Gould, has been leader of Camden Council since 2017 but when the general election was announced, she decided to run as candidate in the seat.

Known for his role as Baldrick in Blackadder Robinson has been a long-term Labour supporter but left the party in May 2019 after more than 40 years of membership citing his dissatisfaction with Jeremy Corbyn and the party’s handling of Brexit. He rejoined the party in April 2020.
