‘Has anyone tested the air quality where these toxic cabs sit and idle?’

• WHY do privately-owned black cab drivers seem to have this Mayor of London over a barrel? We’ve been told emergency vehicles have to pay the new congestion charges
(taxpayers’ money) but privately-owned toxic diesel black cabs do not. Why?

I read they only carry 1.5 per cent of daily trips and they make up 40 per cent of cars in the congestion zone. They sit on idle for long periods of time in side streets of railway stations, shopping centres and main streets waiting to get to the front of the cab queue.

Has anyone tested the air quality where these toxic cabs sit and idle? The air quality of London is causing rising health problems we are told by health professionals. What is stopping the mayor including black cabs in the congestion charge?
