• WHEN I wrote to the New Journal (No grounds for a border, December 14) I was hoping to read local MP Sir Keir Starmer’s opinion on what should happen to the internal Irish border in the event of Brexit.

All I have read so far is Patrick Burke’s defence of the border, on religious grounds (Why there is a border in Ireland, December 21).
