Campaign to stop rail ticket office closures
Thursday, 17th August 2023
• RAIL ticket offices and properly staffed stations are vital to support the needs of passengers and make our railways a safe and welcoming place for all travellers.
Ticket office closures will lead to a reduction in the accessibility of the rail network.
Vulnerable groups including the elderly, disabled persons and those without digital means could be excluded from travel.
So if you have not responded to the consultation on closing ticket offices yet, now is your chance, by September 1 via @TransportFocus and @LondonTravelWatch.
The more specific your response the better, referring to the railway operating company managing the ticket office and why it’s a bad idea to close the office for you.
Finally there will also be a march to Number 10 Downing Street on Thursday August 31, assembling from the Department for Transport, 33 Horseferry Road, SW1P 4DR at 5pm, with a rally at the end.
Join the campaign to stop rail ticket offices being closed.
