Beware the bike bullies

‘I have been struck several times (with countless near-misses) by cyclists’
• EXCELLENT backlash from several recent correspondents on the menace of unlicensed road users.
I do not own a vehicle of any kind and do not drive or cycle; I walk or use public transport.
In 50 years of living in London I have never been struck by a motor vehicle; but in the past couple of years alone I have been struck several times (with countless near-misses) by cyclists, their fellow road warriors the rickshaw thugs, e-scooter idiots, and boy-racers on electric bikes.
On pavements, at red lights, at zebra crossings, one-way streets, and on footpaths in the parks… and on one occasion a skateboarder collided with me outside the Dean Street Tesco, fell off his skateboard (how sad), and cursed me for being “in the wrong”.
Motor vehicle drivers in my experience are far more skilled, observant, and courteous on the road, always giving way at zebra crossings and traffic lights and frequently also at junctions, even when they have right of way.
Cyclists, rickshaws, and their ilk, never give way even when they are obliged to and, safe in the knowledge that they cannot be identified, frequently intimidate pedestrians by deliberately hurtling straight at them.
I’ve also observed them going out of their way to annoy drivers by blocking the road even when there is a cycle lane available.
Many are arrogant, aggressive, bullies, and there is nothing worse than a self-righteous fanatic on a mission who is also a bully.
Until all road users are licensed, identifiable, and legally required to follow the same rules, nothing will change.
