Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
GOLDEN Boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hinted that he will still be at Arsenal when the new season gets underway after revealing that he wants to emulate his boyhood hero.
The Gabon striker has been linked with a big-money move to China or even Manchester United following the Gunners’ failure to secure Champions League football. But the birthday boy, who turned 30 on Tuesday, insists that he wants to “honour legend”
Thierry Henry by wearing the number 14 shirt with distinction.
“I’d always admired Arsenal because of the big history and players like Henry,” he said.
“He was always an example for strikers, and because I am also fast and score goals, I always looked up to him.
“He’s the reason why I took the number 14 shirt.”
