An empty barn needs no thatching…
Friday, 28th February 2020
• WHILE associating certain apt quotations with follicly challenged politicians (What is it with not having a bald PM? February 20) perhaps we should remember “grass rarely grows on a busy street”, having in mind Winston Churchill and Clement Attlee.
Further, maybe her sculptural beehive style was the one feature of her premiership that wasn’t challenged, for during this most dispiriting of times I wonder if the inimitable and celestial Rev Spooner, uttered not “an empty barn needs no thatching” but “an empty Thatcher needs no balm”?
