Let us admire the flowers & find peace, Royal Parks

‘The flower beds and floral displays have been in the English Avenue Gardens since 1864. To destroy 70 per cent would be an outrage’
• I WOULD like to see a public campaign to save the flowerbeds and gorgeous floral displays in the English Avenue Gardens in Regent’s Park.
There has been talk of The Royal Parks shockingly proposing to tear out and rip out (for good) 70 per cent of the stunning floral displays in the English Avenue Gardens and replace them with shrubs.
This is shocking and a terrible thing to do, deprive the public of much-loved and absolutely stunning flowerbeds with all the different, vibrant colours of gorgeous flowers that brighten up thousands of people’s days every day of all seasons.
I am appalled. This is destroying the history and tradition of Regent’s Park being one of the most beautiful parks in London.
The flower beds and floral displays have been in the English Avenue Gardens since 1864. To destroy 70 per cent would be an outrage.
Nature and flowers have a positive effect on wellbeing and mental health. The Regent’s Park is a peaceful sanctuary for those who seek peace and quiet in a noisy and busy city.
For the Royal Parks to go ahead with this would destroy all good feeling from the public and to ruin the peaceful tranquillity of the park where we all enjoy taking time to admire the flowers and find peace in the midst of an increasingly fretful and broken world.
