‘The bin store in my building is full of well-fed rodents and a collection of old mattresses’
• I WRITE in response to the letter from Onyeka Ekpechue of Soho Housing’s officer, (We are working together to improve the Soho area, April 1).
As a resident in a Soho Housing home I would appreciate if next time Soho Housing are “working to improve Soho” they could swing by some of their own buildings.
The bin store (pictured above) in my building, which Soho Housing Association charge over £100 an hour to clean, is full of well-fed rodents and a good collection of old mattresses and debris.
I’d appreciate if you don’t publish my address as the door is frequently unlocked and, while I sympathise with homeless people, the bin store is not safe and sanitary accommodation.
Westminster City Council, who apparently also attend these instructive walks around Soho, assured me some six months back that they have made Soho Housing aware of the broken lock, which is getting “urgent attention”.
