Solar Power

• GOOD to see that Primrose Hill Church is installing solar panels, (Let there be green light, February 3).

But don’t get excited. That won’t be generally applicable until big business finds a way of making us pay for sunlight.

After all if we all had solar panels on our homes, presumably there would be no need for power stations spewing out particulates and releasing carbon.

A five-year government programme could have free power for all. The problem is sunlight comes straight from space unadulterated and therefore with a much-reduced potential for greedy profiteers.

Anybody interested in buying shares in my company set up to produce a contactless sun-ray meter for all homes worldwide?

We’re opening an asbestos head office on the planet Mercury next month and we’ll be fully operational long before the first HS2 pulls out of Euston!
