Sir Keir Starmer

• IF we must have a hard Brexit as Sir Keir Starmer believes, surely the Singapore on the Thames is the best option.

Is Sir Keir’s Brexit a little like Theresa May’s, where we keep alinement on standards to help trade, yet none of the benefits from the freedoms of the single market? And the right to live and work across 27 other member states.

As a long-term supporter of the Labour Party and a remainer who – on a daily basis – can see the current hard Brexit chaos that the country is experiencing, I find it unbelievable that a Labour Party leader would not argue that Britain’s future and prosperity is best served with a soft Brexit and a return to the single market.

The statements on Brexit that Sir Keir has previously made make his current position seem to me like a political betrayal. And hypocritical. These are not traits usually associated with a politician of integrity.
